The Better Life or Doing What Is Right and Not Wrong?

by
Dean Gotcher

When in the fifties (or even before) the focus by parents 'shifted' to their children "having a better life," the children lost the message of "doing right and not wrong." While the "better life" can come from "doing right and not wrong" the opposite is not true, since the "better life" "of and for self," i.e., the flesh, is the person (child) consuming the things of this life unto themselves, engendering a consumer driven society, without "doing right and not wrong"according to God the Father's will. When education, i.e., learning how to set policy 'shifted' from "doing right and not wrong" to achieving the "better life" (the affective domain) we lost our children to their carnal desires of the 'moment' and our nation to facilitators of 'change,' i.e., psychotherapists, i.e., Transformational Marxists (all one and the same), turning our children (and ourselves) into "human resource" for their (the seducers, deceivers, and manipulators of children/men) own pleasure and gain, i.e., for their "good life," 'liberating' themselves and our children from "doing right and not wrong," living the "good life" of unrighteousness and abomination instead—as hateful children, i.e., "children of disobedience" striking out at any authority that gets (or they fear will get) in their way. As we now see happening around us today.

"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4:1-10

The message of the world is peace and affirmation, peace being "the good life" in the flesh, and affirmation, i.e., the approval of men. God's message is grace and peace, i.e., His work for us leading to His peace in us, if we will receive it.

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." John 14:27a
